I'm still here...

Ich bin noch da.
Zur zeit ist das Leben etwas stressiger als sonst.
Meine Eltern hatten Goldene Hochzeit
Dann sind wir in Vorbereitung unser altes Haus neu verputzen zu lassen.
(Letztes Jahr gab es ein neues Dach.)
Dann bin ich dabei, meinen Gemüsegarten herzurichten.
Aber zu allem Überfluss habe ich mir letzten Sonntag eine Erkältung geholt,  bei der Gedenkfeier zum 66. Jahrestag der Befreiung des Konzentrationslagers Sachsenhausen. Es blies ein ziemlich kalter Wind unter schattigen Bäumen. Husten , Schnupfen , Heiserkeit... Aber es war mir mal wichtig daran teil zu nehmen...

I'm still here.
There currently is life a little more stressful than usual. My parents had Golden Wedding Celebration. Then we are in preparation  to have new plaster for our house. (Last year there was a new roof.) Then I am going to prepare my vegetable garden.
But to make matters worse, I've got a cold last sunday, on the 66th Commemoration Anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camp of Sachsenhausen. A cold wind blew. Cough, runny nose, hoarseness... But it was important to me here to participate.

Keramik | Pottery..

Heute Vormittag habe ich nach vielen Jahren meinen ehemaligen Arbeitsplatz besucht. Es ist eine der berühmtesten Keramikwerkstatt Deutschlands. Sie ist berühmt für ihre Weiss/Blaue Gebrauchskeramik im Bauhausstil. Wenn man heut zu tage dort einkaufen möchte, sollte man einen dicken Geldbeutel besitzen. Vor über 20 Jahren war es noch anders. Einzelne Teile kosten heute um das vierfache. Aber zum Glück besitze ich noch einen guten Draht dorthin, dennoch konnte ich mich gut zurückhalten. Aber es lag eher daran, weil ich mich nicht entscheiden konnte. nördlich von Berlin: Hedwig Bollhagen Manufaktur 
Es war schön Altbekanntes und Neues wieder zusehen.

This morning I visited my former workplace after many years.
It is a famous pottery workshop in germany. It is famous for their white/blue dishes in Bauhaus-style. If you want to shop there now-a-days, you should have a big wallet. More than 20 years ago it was different. Single parts cost today the fourfold. But fortunately I still have a good connection there. Nevertheless I could stop myself. But it was more in it because I could not decide.

It was nice to see old known and new again.

Lida Niels (70), ich kenne diese niederländische Quilterin nicht , aber ihre Quilts sprechen für sie. Sie sind eine große Inspiration für mich. Und damit diese Eindrücke nicht verloren gehen, setze ich diese Videos in meinen Blog.

Lida Niels (70), I don't know this Dutch quilter, but their quilts speak for them. They are a great inspiration to me. And so that these impressions are not lost, I put the videos in my blog.

 

some new goody's..

In der letzten zeit hab ich nicht viel nähen können.
Viel Arbeit im Garten und so einige Migräneattacken  haben es verhindert.
Aber es gab einige erhellende Momente, wenn der Postbote vorbei kam.

In the last time I not sew a lot.
Much work in the garden and so some migraine attacks have prevented it.
But there were some enlightening moments when the postman came by.

In some I am already in love. :))

 The Jelly Rolls 'Prayer Flag' had a long journey.  

From Saint George, Utah (Green Fairy Quilts) via Paris to Berlin in 4 weeks.  

If they would speak .. .. ;D   

And from Texas (FatQuarterShop) came today the dark fabric for my sampler,  

 together with some cheddar-colored fabrics for projects in the future.

Monday 'Washday Blues'...

Der Borderstoff für meinen Sampler ist noch unterwegs.
Darum hab ich vorerst ein neues Projekt begonnen.
Einige 'Ohio Stars' mit der Kollektion 'Alices Washday Blues'.
Als Anfänger ist man immer etwas unsicher, ob man alles richtig macht.
Hat man die Stoffe und Farben richtig ausgewählt und kombiniert ... ??

The border fabric for my sampler is still on the way.
So for now I've started a new project.

Some 'Ohio Stars' with the collection of  'Alice's Washday Blues'.

As a beginner, you're always a little unsure if you do everything right.
have you the fabrics and colors chosen properly and combined ... *brood* ..

Aschenputtel ...

Als ein sehr sehr  kleines Mädchen hatte ich ein Lieblingsmärchenbuch.
Aber unglücklicherweise gehörte es meiner 10Jahre älteren Schwester.
Im erwachsenen Alter ging es selbstverständlich in ihr Haushalt über.
Es war eine ganz besondere Ausgabe, die nur in den 60er bis 70er Jahre aufgelegt wurde.
Ich habe über 20 Jahre lang nach einem eigenen Exemplar gesucht, in antiquariaten oder im Internet. Gestern überraschte meine Schwester mich mit diesem Buch. Sie hat es für mich im Internet gefunden und schnellstens gekauft und schenkte es mir.
Es ist sogar besser erhalten als ihr eigenes Buch. Ich habe damal dieses Buch  so sehr geliebt, dass ich darin malte, weil ich die Illustrationen so sehr mochte. Jetzt habe ich ein makelloses eigenes Exemplar. Es ist eine alte DDR-Ausgabe mit Illustrationen von Erika Klein.
Nach über 25 Jahren sehe ich endlich wieder diese Bilder
Ich fühle mich augenblicklich in meine frühe Kindheit zurück versetzt als ich selbst noch nicht lesen konnte...


Cinderella

As a very very little girl I had a favorite story book.
But unfortunately it was one of my 10 years older sister.
In the adult age, it was of course over in their household.
It was a very special edition, which was issued only in the 60s to 70s. I have over 20 years looking after for a own copy in antique shops or in the Internet. Yesterday my sister surprised me with this book. She found it for me in the Internet and quickly bought and presented it to me.
It is even get better than their own book. At that time I loved this book so much that I painted it because I liked the illustrations so much. Now I have a flawless own copy

It is an old East German edition with illustrations by Erika Klein.

I am momentarily back in my early childhood, when I was still could not read ..

 Grimm's 'Aschenputtel' (Cinderella) is a little different than the American story. In the German version there is no pumpkin carriage or a fairy. There are only a miracle tree and the talking pigeons.

A lot of work.. | Viel Arbeit..

oh weh.. gestern hab ich über 1200 Pflastersteine ganz allein aus der Einfahrt weg geschafft. Ich muss glaub nicht groß erklären, dass ich heute kaum krauchen kann vor lauter Muskelschmerzen. Vor allem meine Handgelenke, mein Rücken, mein Steiß... Durch die lange Winterpause fehlt mir auch die Hornhaut in den Handflächen. Ich bin mir sicher das da jetzt welche wächst, denn die brennen grad wie Feuer.

oh dear...Yesterday I got over 1200 paving stones all alone away from the gate way. I need not explain that today I can not crawl out of sheer muscle pain everywhere. Especially my wrists, my back, my rump... Through the long winter break my cornea missing in the palms. I am sure that there is growing now that, because the burning like fire now.

 

Vor einigen Tagen gab es neuen Stoffzuwachs. (ein 21 Fat Quarter Bundle)

'Alice's Washday Blues' 1880 by Carry Quinn von Blue Hill Fabrics. Sieht er nicht großartig aus ? Ich weiß noch nicht , was ich daraus mache. Hoffentlich versaue ich es nicht !!

I do not know what I'm doing with it. Hopefully I will do not spoil it !!!

Mein sampler wird nur diese 30 Blocks enthalten. Für mehr Blöcke reicht der Stoff jetzt nicht mehr aus. Ich habe jeden einzelnen in einen farbigen Rahmen gesetzt. Es wird immer bunter.. :D Ich werde versuchen sie ordentlich und ausgewogen zu positionieren.. wenn es noch geht..

..oder sollte ich die Rahmen wieder entfernen ? 

My sampler will include only these 30 blocks. For more blocks is no longer of  fabric enough now. I've placed each in a colored border. I am always surprised at how colorful it is.. :D  I will try to tidy and balanced position if it still goes ...

..or should I remove the frames again?

Es ist schön wenn am Abend die Sonne länger in den Bäumen hängen bleibt... aaah .. Frühling, ich riech dich schon... :) 

It's nice when the sun hangs longer in the trees in the evening.

2 New books | 2 neue Bücher

 Da ich dieses Buch beim Bloghopping nicht gewinnen konnte, musste ich es mir kaufen. so !! Und weil eines sich ziemlich einsam fühlt, sollte sein älteres Geschwister mit Heim kommen. so !! Kim Bracketts sensationelle Quilt Bücher mit exelenten Vorlagen für Jelly Rolls.

Because I don't win this book by the blog hopping could, I had to buy it myself. So!! And because one is feeling rather lonely, older Sister should be coming on home. So!! Kim Brackett sensational quilt books with instructions for Jelly Rolls.

Heute war ausserdem der Tag, an dem wir unser Motorrad aus dem Winterschalf geholt haben. Es war zwar kalt, aber für einen 2stündigen Ausflug übers Land hat's gereicht. aaaaah, das war mal wieder nötig !!!!

Also today was the day  we got our bike out of hibernation.
It was cold, but for a 2-hour trip through the country, was it okay .
aaaaah, and it was needed !!!!

Das ist ein Denkmal für die Schlacht bei Ferbellin von 1675, nördlich von Berlin. Dort gaben sich Schwedische und Brandenburg/Preußische Truppen sozusagen die Kugel. Den Turm kann man besteigen und man hat eine gute Fernsicht übers platte Land.

The tower you can climb and you have a good clear view over the flat country ...

Highlights des letzten wochenende: 

hab ein bemerkenswertes Konzert von 'The National' (aus New York) in Berlin besucht. Es war bereits seit Monaten ausverkauft. Es war ihr drittes in Berlin innerhalb eines jahres. Ich hab noch nie einen Sänger so betrunken auf der Bühne erlebt und trotzdem eine so perfekte Show abliefern sehen. :D

Hier der letzte acoustic Song des Abends zusammen gesungen mit dem Publikum.

Highlights of last weekend:

have a remarkable concert by 'The National ' (from New York) in Berlin visited. It was sold out for months. It was their third concert in Berlin within a year.  I've never seen a singer so drunk on stage and still deliver such a perfect show . :D

Zur zeit schreibe ich eher wenig.

ich glaub mich hat die Frühjahrsmüdigkeit gepackt.

Mein Kopf ist langsamer als sonst.

I think, now I am caught by the spring fatigue.
